Welcome to Ramven: Where Chemistry Meets Business
Why I started this blog — and what you can expect to find here
A Quick Introduction
My name is Venkatesha Perumal — most people in the industry know me as Ramven. I am a technical sales professional working in the chemical and water treatment industry. Over the past decade, I have worked with industrial clients across the Middle East, helping them solve complex process and water challenges with practical, chemistry-driven solutions.
Starting this blog has been on my mind for a while. Now, in March 2026, I am finally doing it — and I want to use this first post to explain why and what you can expect from this space.
Why I Started This Blog
Every week, I visit plants, talk to engineers, review data sheets, and write proposals. And almost every week, I notice the same pattern: there is a lot of good knowledge inside industry professionals—but not enough of it is written down, shared, or made accessible to others.
I want to change that — at least in my small corner of the world. Here is what I have observed:
- Young engineers often waste a significant amount of time resolving problems that already exist.
- There is a gap between academic chemistry and real plant-floor troubleshooting, which often leads to young engineers struggling to apply theoretical knowledge to practical situations in the industry.
- Many suppliers and clients struggle to communicate because they speak different languages—one technical, one commercial.
- The Middle East, especially in water treatment and petrochemicals, has a dearth of industry knowledge online.
This blog is my attempt to bridge those gaps—one article at a time.
What You Will Find Here
I have organized this blog around a few key themes that reflect my own professional interests and experience:
Water Treatment & Process Chemistry
Practical guides on cooling water chemistry, RO systems, boiler water treatment, corrosion inhibitors, and scale control. Real problems with real solutions — not just theory.
Chemical Industry Insights
Analysis of market trends, supply chain developments, and business dynamics in the specialty chemicals sector in the Middle East and globally.
Personal Notes
Occasional reflections on learning, career development, productivity, and what it means to keep growing as a professional in a technical field.
Who Is This For?
I am writing for people like me—and people who are on their way to becoming like me. Specifically:
- Chemical engineers and process engineers who want practical knowledge, not just academic theory
- Young professionals entering the water treatment or specialty chemicals industry
- Technical sales professionals who want to sharpen their commercial instincts
- Plant operators and maintenance engineers looking for clear, applicable guidance
- Anyone curious about how chemistry and business intersect in the industrial world
You do not need a PhD to follow this blog. You need curiosity and a willingness to learn — the same qualities that have served me well throughout my career.
My Commitment to You
I will keep things practical. Every article I write will have a clear takeaway — something you can apply, download, share, or use immediately. I am not interested in writing for the sake of writing. I want this to be genuinely useful.
I will also keep things honest. I will share what I have learned, including my mistakes. The most useful lessons I have had in my career came from figuring out what went wrong—and I intend to share those too.
